Farnborough Air Show 2010

In October 1908 Samuel Cody, a Texan aero enthusiast, for the first time in Britain successfully sustained powered flight in an air vehicle. He was operating out of what was then the Army Balloon Factory in Farnborough, England. Since then, the town of Farnborough has become synonymous with aviation, and is known globally for the biennial aerospace industry trade fair it hosts from the local airport. In addition to serving as a platform for civilian and military aircraft deals, the fair is complimented with air displays from a range of aircraft, old and new. If anything, it is a celebration of aerospace engineering, as we are given the chance to witness the incredible technological advances that have been made since that first powered flight in 1908. Collected here are a selection of images from the 2010 show.
